YOUR DONATION WILL HELP SUPPORT OUR EDUCATIONAL EFFORT CALLED "THE VEGGIE PARK FARMERS MARKET." “The Veggie Park” was launched in July 2012 in the Harrisburg community of Augusta. The educational effort began as a veggie-sampling neighborhood activity. The Veggie Truck will continue to expand its programs to include a farmers market, healthy cooking classes, and children's gardens. The Veggie Truck Farmers Market is scheduled to begin in April 2013. This weekly market will feature, fresh, naturally-grown, local foods from farmers committed to food accessibility. The Veggie Truck Farmers Market will accept SNAP/EBT benefits. In partnership with Wholesome Wave Georgia, the market will double the value of SNAP benefits for healthy food purchases. Community Partners include St. Luke’s Methodist Church, Good Neighbor Ministries and medical student volunteers from Georgia Regents University School of Medicine and Augusta Locally Grown. Donations help cover the cost of sample foods.
